Bohemian Rhapsody, famous song of Freddy Mercury harmonized for 4 mixed voices choir by Pierre-Gérard Verny:
Freddie Mercury was a great fan of opera and that piece is a tribute paid for that musical style.
In Queen’s version, that was him who sung all voices in re-recording.
Pierre-Gérard Verny’s arrangement isn’t easy but perfectly respects the originality of the song.
The piano plays for the entire orchestra. This would be quite difficult to perform this piece without it and would not be for the best result.
Everybody sings as a soloist at a moment because each of them performs a part of the lyrics.
However, the three desks without melody should be careful to be precised on the first verse.
