This cantata is intended to be performed by narrators, children’s choirs and harmonic orchestras.
It is based on “Contes d’un buveur de bière” written by Charles Deulin. “Long ago, there was a boy named Gilles. He lived in Condé-sur-l’Escaut and was 15 years old. He was an utter rascal nicknamed ‘Culotte-Verte.’ He called himself ‘l’homme sans peur’ (French for the fearless man) and promised he would only get married when he would have been afraid of something. That’s how his incredible adventures began for a 30-minute show.”
