This ancient text was given by Dr Lubandazio Mavatikwa. These two Congolese traditional songs were given and arranged by Ambroise Kua-Nzambi Toko. Female voices in “Mfumu Lutunu” (Chief Lutunu) tell the story of the crimes perpetrated by a bloodthirsty and tyrant chief’s militia during the night. The song is like a long lament. The soloist “Mono Polo” (I, Paul) tells the story of Paul, who was wrongly expelled from his village and put into jail. The choir makes some comments and is a part of the dialogue.
