“Didn’t My Lord Deliver Daniel” is a classic of spirituals. The Fisk Jubilee Singers has sung it since 1872. This is a song about liberty. There are several references to the Bible, and it was directly addressed to Black people held in slavery.
The arrangement is quite classical. This song completes the collection of the three spirituals already published (ref. ACJ 3041). The rhythm and the text enhance the entire work. It can be performed by any choir, specialized or not in gospel.
