Pierre Chevalier created the text and the melody of this carol. These simple and moving verses depict the surprise the Son of God created by coming to humans’ world living in misery in spite of being rich and powerful. That’s why the Nativity is so mysterious, and the poor people were hopeful. The naive, surprising and humble side of this Epiphany’s song is represented in this arrangement. You should sing the chorus with the slow and formal beat of a majestic walking in the sand; this would contrast with the spoken singing verses.
