This collection presents fifteen vocal Renaissance polyphonies for three mixed voices (two female voices and one male voice). The choice of these ranges is relatively frequent in the works of composers and we have been careful to present here songs as well as motets or psalms of Spanish, Italian, English or French-speaking composers active throughout the 16th century.
Our edition of ancient music, now accessible to the modern reader by a practical transcription (usual keys, groomed texts) also meets the usual criteria of the rules of musicological restitution in use (incipit, musica ficta, barrage between staves) with the hope that the pleasure shared during the Renaissance in reading these original polyphonies is still shared by today's singers.
