The author Anne-Marie Grosser was asked a question: why did she write a new book on canon songs? She answered that many books were written with an interesting repertoire. But that she searched for a long time a textbook with the different forms of canons ordered in an educational way, but that was in vain. “The Musical Offering” by Bach inspired her to classify by her own things she possessed. After several decades of teaching singing to children and giving training courses for adults, she explained that she wanted to show the plurality and the richness of the canon. She also said that she wanted to teach the easiest aspects and the most difficult ones. She hopes her textbook will be useful and help people to renew their repertoires, experiences and creativity.
