Who doesn't know this line from the song of the twins by Michel Legrand and Jacques Demy, taken from the soundtrack of the musical "Les demoiselles de Rochefort"?
You can now sing it, with your choir 13 main songs from the film, in a choral suite, with narration texts adapting the story of the movie, entitled "Les demoiselles swinguent à Rochefort". The whole piece makes for a complete show that could be a wonderful annual choral project.
The chiseled arrangements, of varying difficulty according to the titles, for mixed choir (SMAH or SATB), respect to the letter (and to the note...) the spirit of Michel Legrand's melodies, in swing, bossa nova, jazz waltz or samba atmospheres, always with the original character of the musical.The performance can be with a piano, with a jazz trio (piano, double bass, drums) or with the complete combo of the arrangement (jazz trio + 3 saxophones). In order to help choristers's learning, Mp3 audio files are also available, by voice, as well as Playback, which can be perfectly suitable for an accompaniment in rehearsal but also in concert.
The complete realization, in exact correspondence with the score (music and narration), recorded by the vocal group Graffiti, is also available.
Pierre-Gérard Verny, a specialist in polyphonic vocal jazz, wrote all the arrangements of this suite and did the complete realization of the project, produced by our editions.
