Work for 3 mixed voices choir SAB and piano, traditional from Switzerland arranged by Pierre-Louis Godeberge.

La Sagne is a village in the Jura region of French-speaking Switzerland (canton of Neuchâtel); the song is in the form of a ländler, a very old dance in three slow beats, ancestor of the Viennese waltz, very popular in Bavaria, Austria and nearby German-speaking Switzerland.
Dating back to the early 20th century, with its symmetrical structure (4 verses of 16 bars each), this lively chanson-à-danser has retained its rural, peasant character: spiced up with a few tasty dialectal expressions, it sings about time and the passing seasons in a sincere, straightforward way.

Simple to memorize, this arrangement is written for three-part mixed a cappella choir (soprano, alto and one male voice), with ad libitum piano accompaniment. It can be sung and danced to at the same time: a guaranteed hit!

Duration : circa 1 minute 45 s.
