Musical tale written by Daniel BONNET
This score, which lasts around 20 minutes, is intended for children aged 7 to 13. It is scored for a narrator, a piano, a compulsory first sung voice, a second voice ad libitum, and optional body and/or instrumental percussion. Three of the tale's characters - the stonecutter, his daughter Pierronne and the minstrel - have solo singing roles, but these solos are not compulsory.

The story takes place in a town in the late 12th or early 13th century.
The very young Pierronne would like to become a stonemason like her father, but in the Middle Ages this profession, like many others, was forbidden to girls. One day, while working on the construction of a cathedral, her father is injured. Pierronne secretly took his place, won the recognition of the workers and was finally accepted onto the site.
