The original initiative of a Cameroonian association with which we are extremely proud to collaborate.
Since 2013, the association Amis du Chœur Madrigal du Cameroun has been working to provide training in music education and to promote the practice of choral singing among young people in Cameroon, and in 2021 initiated a musical creation project based on the collection of traditional Cameroonian songs.
A group of young Cameroonian composers, accompanied by Tanguy Bouvet, proposed arrangements with the aim of making them accessible to choirs around the world.
This work of transcription and preservation of oral heritage, presented in this first booklet, is a journey in Cameroonian lands, from sacred music to secular expressions, from lamentations to rhythmic songs !
