“Donkey Skin” is a movie released by Jacques Demy in 1970. Pop art and peace and love movements he has discovered in the United States inspired the esthetically pleasing and colorful aspect of the movie, which was unusual at that time. Michel Legrand created music and songs of the movie. He was his regular composer. Main actors were dubbed for songs; Anne Germain dubbed Catherine Deneuve, like in “The Young Girls of Rochefort” (1967). Roland Lemêtre realized a beautiful 2-part arrangement of the song, very respectful of the original one. Choirmasters who are looking for movie music should be delighted.
