Discover Salve Regina, a sacred text set to music by Christopher Gibert:
The Salve Regina is a prayer of mercy and tenderness that exhales a deep and humble faith.
It is this idea that guided Christophe Gibert in the composition of this work with its luminous and ecstatic sounds.
About Christopher Gibert:
After having studied organ, piano, analysis and writing at the Conservatories of Toulouse and Boulogne-Billancourt, Christopher Gibert obtained two First Prizes with honours in choral conducting and musical analysis.
After a degree in musicology, he specialized in 17th century sacred music and wrote a Master's thesis at the University of Paris IV Sorbonne on the religious works of Marc-Antoine Charpentier, an emblematic 17th century French composer.
It was then at the Pôle Supérieur in Rennes that he perfected his conducting skills in the prestigious class of Régine Théodoresco.
A versatile musician, choral conducting remains his greatest passion. He regularly takes part in courses for a wide variety of audiences. The balance and colour of sound, the combination of voices, prosody and diction are interpretation paths that he regularly walks with his two ensembles.
In 2013 in Toulouse he created the Dulci Jubilo chamber choir and in 2016 the baroque ensemble La Pellegrina. With these ensembles, he has directed numerous productions on a national scale.
Organist for ten years at the Sanctuaire de Rocamadour, Christopher Gibert has been professor of choral singing at the Conservatoire de Montauban since September 2018. He is also in charge of the "young choir" choral formations at the Saint-Eustache church in Paris.
