Piece for women's choir 3 equal voices a cappella, text by Olivier Blin, Music by Agnès Blin
During a project with the Varia Canto ensemble on a repertoire evoking the weather and climate, in these times of major climatic disturbances, I wanted to enrich their repertoire with two pieces: "Soleil blanc" and "Halo de brume", whose poems are both taken from Olivier Blin's collection "Saisons". I composed these two pieces in quick succession, thinking about the timbre, colour and tessitura of each of the sections. The text for this piece comes from Olivier Blin's book of poems Saisons (original title of the poem: Neige) and the music was composed by Agnès Blin for her vocal ensemble Para L'Elles.
It is for 3 equal voices and is accessible to choirs of all levels without any particular difficulty.
Running time: approximately 1'15''.
A few words about the composer :
After studying at the CRR in Cergy (piano, analysis, writing) and the CNSMDP, where she won first prize in musical analysis for her work on J.S. Bach's Mass in B minor under Michaël Lévinas, Agnès Blin specialised in choral conducting at the CRD in Créteil in Ariel Alonso's class, where she obtained her diploma, while working on vocal technique and interpretation with Françoise Guinchat. She directs the various children's and adult choirs at the municipal music and dance school in Montmagny (Val d'Oise), where she founded the women's vocal ensemble Para L'Elles in 2011.
She regularly makes musical arrangements for this ensemble, adapting for equal voice choir pieces from the Renaissance to the 19th century, originally composed for mixed voice choir, or arranging Lieder for soprano and piano into Lieder for 4 equal voice choir and piano or harp.
Alongside her arrangements, she composes pieces adapted to her different ensembles, including songs for young children and teenagers, for whom she also writes the librettos for their shows, and for established vocal ensembles such as Para l'Elles.
