Technique de la Direction Chorale by Pierre CAO :
100 serial musical examples to mark the stop, the measures, the starts on the different beats, the different note values, the organ points, the decomposed measures, the measures with non-isochronous beats, the changes of tempo ...By a world-renowned maestro, Pierre Cao.
"This book is an attempt to put in writing a method of conducting, which does not have the ambition to be the only one.
It is only a working tool, intended to acquire a gestic.
Like all instrumentalists, a conductor should strive to master a technique in order to create mechanisms that will enable him to communicate as much as possible with his singers or instrumentalists.
In order to work on the expressiveness of the gesture, one can add indications of phrasing and nuance to the proposed exercises.
I hope that this modest work will help future choral conductors in the apprenticeship of their profession".
